From the publisher

Preachers are gospel experts — they study the good news in seminary and in sermon prep, and share its message with confidence every Sunday. They clearly have a strong biblical and theological understanding of the gospel. But what about a functional one?

In The Heart of Preaching, Mike Bullmore explores the functional centrality of the gospel to help pastors convey its power in a more tangible way. Drawing on decades of pastoral experience, he navigates common heart challenges, clarifies nuanced definitions, and offers practical advice for sermon preparation, delivery, and planning — so the gospel animates not only a pastor's preaching but his whole ministry and Christian life. Part of the 9Marks family.
